Under stairs storage is always a great alternative especially if you have kids with lots of toys and games. It is good to store and organize those stuffs without being worried of taking more space. Some prefer purchasing a built-in storage to put under the stairs. Yet, this might be hard to fit since each stair in each house may be different. Therefore, making it ourselves stands the best choice.
You will need lumber, nails, screws, measuring tape, level, hammer, drill, screwdrivers, paints, and other additional materials. Decide which direction to use for access going into the storage. Make sure you will put the shelves and drawers in handy direction so that will be easy to take and store the items. Then, make up the frames for supporting the drawers or shelves. Yet, the frames should match the back wall of staircase design for making it fit the stairs. For the shelves, install peg board along the sides, and then attach them with screws.
Next, build sliding drawers if you like this type of drawers. Some prefer sliding drawer for closed-shelves, while some also like to use open-shelves without any doors or cabinetry. Lastly, paint it carefully and it is ready to store your unmanaged items.
